Nizip Ticaret Borsası Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı İbrahim Sarı ve Meclis Başkanı Ahmet Polat, 8 Şubat Gaziantep’e Gazilik unvanının verilişinin 104. yıl dönümünü yayınladığı mesaj ile kutladı. “Antep için bu unvanı almak büyük gururdur” diyen NTB Başkanları mesajlarında su ifadelerle yer verdiler; “Gazilik unvanı 1921 yılında Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi tarafından Antep’imize verilmis ve Antep savunmasinin taçlandigi nokta olmuştur. Antep verdiği mücadele ve dillere destan savunması ile bu unvanı sonuna kadar hak etmiştir.
February 8 is a historical day that ensures that our city, which is an example of heroism throughout the country, has the title of Gazi. It is an important day when 6317 heroic martyrs, men, women, young and old, are once again commemorated with mercy. Antep resisted the enemy for 11 months and did not give way to the enemy with its relentless struggle. One of the most meaningful words that summarizes Gaziantep is what Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said about Antep, "Every city, every town and the smallest Turkish village that says they are a Turk can take the people of Gaziantep as an example of heroism."
At this point today, Gaziantep continues to be an example to other cities with its breakthroughs and its constantly growing and developing economy. Continuing to work for the goals set by Türkiye, Gaziantep continues its struggle without getting tired and without fearing obstacles. Today, Gaziantep is a source of morale for the country with the breakthroughs it has made in the economic, commercial and cultural fields.
