President İbrahim Sarı in his message; "The existence of an impartial and free press is an indispensable element of strong democracies. The abolition of censorship in the Turkish press on July 24, 1908 is celebrated every year on July 24 as "Journalists and Press Day". The press, which is one of the indispensable basic elements of modern and democratic life, informs the public about the developments in the region we live in and all over the world with an impartial, accurate and fast news flow by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by communication technology within the framework of respect for professional principles and personal rights. "It provides the right to receive information and obtain information. In other words, it also serves as a bridge between citizens and public institutions by ensuring fast and effective communication between citizens and the state. On this occasion, I congratulate the 24th of July Journalists and Press Day of all members of the press who fulfill their duties tirelessly and with great devotion under difficult conditions, and I commemorate all our press martyrs who lost their lives while performing their profession."
